Trip through the UK

ll

I am heading to United Kingdom to take a road trip thourgh the land of history. On my trip I mainly want to visit histoical places, but we will visit other things.
I lent myself a car at the airport in london. It was a volvo, a trustworthy car to drive across the roads in the UK.

My first stopp was in London.
In london I visited the great tower of westminister, Big Ben. A Tower that was built in the 1800, but was opend in 1859, the tower is 96 meters high, and they say it is named after Benjamin Hall. Another great attraction in london is the buckingham palace, that is where the queen lives. The Palace was build in 1703. In London, there is a place called Madame Tussauds wax figures, were you can see fake celebrities made of wax, which is quite interesting.

Now i am heading to the famous Stonehenge.
Stonehenge is the greates historical monument in the whole UK. It was probably built between 2000 B.C. and 2500 B.C. It is said to be the most well known bulding in the world. It was bulit in the Bronze Age. There is more to it than that, they say that Stonehenge is a place build by aliens, and visited by aliens.

Next I am heading to Bristol, to take a break.

In Bristol, I visited the cathedral, it looks like the church from my hometown Trondheim. Bristol is a city not many people know about. In Bristol, there is about 1.07 million people there. The town is a cool town with many buildings like these. The trip to Bristol was rather a break then a place to visit; there was nothing special to see here.

The trip to York was boring, it was long and nothing happend, then i figured that i should take a plane to glasgow than drive to Glasgow.

York is one of the oldest cities in the UK. The city is walled; it got a wall around the border of the city. There actually a lot of people that live in this town, it is about the size of Trondheim in Norway. This town have a lot of history. This town have been the main town of Yorkshire for a long time. The town have been a vital military base for the romans. Two roman emperors died in York. This town have also been a part of Norway’s kingdom, under the command of Harald Hårdråde.

The trip to Glasgow was in plane, that went much faster.
Glasgow is the biggest city in Scotland, and the third in UK. I visited the “Clyde auditorium”, or “the armadillo”. They were playing a concert by a local band. The kelvingrove art gallery and museum, which is the biggest tourist attraction in Scotland, was pretty interesting, with alot of cool paintings.

On my way home i got a good view of scotland, and i was happy that the trip was finnaly over. :D
