A lot of
people think that the American dream can still be reached. The New York Times
made a post about this. They said that 72% of the Americans think that there is
a possibility to start in a poor family and achieve a wealthy life. If you work
hard, you can become rich. Some Americans says they have achieved “The American
dream”, about 44% says so. Another 31% says that they think they will reach it
within their lifetime, and 20% have given up on reaching it.
The
American dream is often explained as “freedom to live our own life”, “Equal”, “starting
from nothing”, “to be healthy and have a nice family and friends” and a lot
more.
I think the phrase is not relevant anymore, since u can achieve this dream in many other countries, and it was used first in 1931, to people in poor countries in Europe.
