Last week,
our class were out on a trip to the roof of Norway. On the way to Galdhøpiggen,
we visited different places like “Helvete” and “kvitskriuprestin” the things
that we saw at these places is only in a few places in the world.
Day 1.
We started
our trip by getting to the buss at around eight am, we travelled to “Helvete”
were we saw potholes. The potholes were made over time. The water in the river
carry a lot of stones and rocks that spin around to make deep holes, or natural
bathtubs. Before we got to the camp, we visited “Kvitskriuprestin”, this geological
phenomenon, was truly amazing. There is not a lot of places in the world, where
you can see these earth pyramids. After that, we finally reached our camp at Heimdal.
Day 2.
This
day I would call the action day, we were at Heidal rafting in Sjoa. After the
rafting, we went to Lom. In Lom we visited the “Norsk-Fjellmuseumet” In the museum we
could experience the nature around Jotunheimen, and look in the past of
jotunheimen and outer national parks in the area. At the bottom of
Galdhøpiggen, was the place we slept at the rest of the week. Before we could
rest for the rest of the day, we went to “juvashytten” on Galdhøpiggen, where we
entered a cave (juvafonna) under the ice. This was a truly amazing experience.
Day
3.
This day we went on top of Galdhøpiggen. First, we drove up to the hut again,
and walked up from there. We were given belts to hang to another person so if
we fell down a crack, hopefully the people standing in front of you and behind
you would catch you if I fell, in a crack under the snow. After a while we had
to take it off, it was safer this way. After many hours of climbing and
walking, we got to the top, everyone was happy. Now the only thing to do was to
get down from the mountain.
Day
4.
This was the day we travelled back home, so nothing really happened this day.
